What: The Rodeo Drive Committee, in conjunction with the City of Beverly Hills, presents the 2013 Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance, a unique showcase of more than 125 classic collector cars on the world-renowned shopping street. In celebration of Learjet’s 50th anniversary, the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance will welcome the revolutionary Learjet 85 aircraft to the 200 Block of Rodeo Drive as the first aircraft to ever appear on the famous street and feature automobiles inspired by the evolution of aircraft with this year’s theme “The Jet Age.”
The Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance will feature the Porsche 911 as the event’s automotive Honored Marque in commemoration of its 50th Anniversary as well and showcase a historical exhibition from the original 911 in 1973 to today's newest model along the Via Rodeo and the 200 block of Rodeo Drive.
Some Hollywood appearances will be made by the Batmobile, designed exclusively for the 1966 “Batman” film based on the popular TV Show: Clark Gable’s last, and heard to be favorite, car the 1956 Mercedes 200Sc Cabriolet: a true product of the “Jet Age,” the 1955 Ghia “Gilda,” named after Rita Hayworth’s famous role of the same name: and Jay Leno’s Turbine-Powered Biodiesel Supercar.
In addition, Airstream will be introducing its luxurious new “Land Yacht” and the McLaren P1 will make its US debut. There will also be new products from Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari and the annual “Best of the Best” pre-1975 cars.
