Desert Classic Concours d'Elegance: Just Dessert
Palm Springs CA, Feb 24 2013 - Walking through any Concours Automobile event, the casual observer is generally overwhelmed just at the sheer volume of visual and contextual data pouring into the senses. Color, reflection, lines, curves, angles and design all rolled up in beautiful history and preservation. It is a fascinating experience to see so much treasure gathered in one location - every time.

We always appreciate the occasion but don't always appreciate the amount of work that goes into the treasure hunting. Imagine the kind of knowledge, friends, contacts and supporters you would need to have to pull together a multi-faceted show like this. Organizing hundreds of people and cars and details and logistics is surely a big challenge even if everything stages perfectly. Sometimes programs don't follow the set trail; go off in a different direction. You have to work a little harder to get things back on track - just to appear like everything's normal.

Paul Merrigan, Founder & Producer of Desert Classic Concours d'Elegance
The 6th annual 2013 Desert Classic Concours d'Elegance show, for all its calm and serenity - was one such story of a long and winding road to success. Paul Merrigan - Founder and Producer of the Desert Classic, persevered through some unusual obstacles to produce a fine show devoid of the drama it took to get there. Some people get to have their cake AND eat it too. www.desertconcours.com
