McCormick’s Attracts Interesting Cars to February Auction

Palm Springs CA, Feb 22-24, 2013 – Classic car lovers will again flock to the Coachella Valley this February, not only for the warm weather and desert vistas, but to watch firsthand as a parade of unique and exotic cars cross the auction block at the 54th McCormick’s Palm Springs Collector Car Auction. Cars from all significant eras are already enrolled with plenty of buzz surrounding two special entries, Lot 201 a 1928 LaSalle Landeau Cabriolet and Lot 170 a pristine 1931 Packard 833 convertible.

"The LaSalle and the Packard are truly special cars and I’m delighted to have them in the auction," says Keith McCormick, founder and president of the 27-year-old auction. "But we also have a wide variety of show-quality performance and custom cars that will cross the block alongside what we like to call Palm Springs barn cars – those great finds used sparingly and lovingly, and in amazing original condition." A good example of the types of cars that can be found at the upcoming auction include Lot 439, a rare 1954 Corvette with original interior and top and only 300 miles on a full mechanical restoration.

Action in the bidding tent isn’t the only lure drawing visitors to the auction grounds. For three days, more than 500 cars will be on display for enthusiasts to peruse and the casual observer to wander through. Plus, guests can enjoy free Friday admission when the gates open at 3pm.

McCormick’s Palms Springs Collector Car Auction holds two events every year in February and November. The 54th auction is scheduled for February 22, 23 and 24, 2013.
