NASCAR at Irwindale: First Responders Admitted Free Sep 21st
Irwindale CA, Sep 11 2013 - In honor of all the people who gave so much on 9/11 twelve years ago, the management of Irwindale Speedway is offering all first responders free admission to a night of NASCAR racing on Saturday, September 21.
"These are the people who rush toward disasters when they happen," said Irwindale Event Center President Jim Cohan. "We want to honor all of them for their selfless contributions to the public's welfare."
The Saturday, September 21st race date is the closest NASCAR event to the 9/11 date and will feature a full card of NASCAR Home Track racing on Irwindale's half and third mile "twin ring" tracks.
On that night fans will see races featuring the Lucas Oil Late Models, Mini Stocks, Progressive Painting Race Trucks, Pick Your Part Southwest Tour Trucks, and Skid Plate Cars. Gates open at 5pm, there's an on-track autograph session at 5:45pm, opening ceremonies are at 6:30pm and racing srtarts at 7pm.
First responders include: fire, police and emergency medical technicians. Valid ID requested.
