Palm Springs CA, Mar 6 2014 - A recent McCormick car auction took in more than $7 million, surpassing sales and attendance records.
Of the 561 cars in the Feb. 21-23 auction, 410 were sold, the car dealer reported. Some 27,800 car-shoppers and admirers came during the three days, including 7,000 on Friday, which was a free day, a record attendance, up 20 percent from last year. Competition for the cars was “very intense at times between buyers,” McCormick said in a statement. Some buyers viewing a live Internet feed of the auction telephoned bids from all around the country and abroad.
Several cars with high price tags led the way to the income record. A pristine 1960 Chrysler 300 F sold for $105,000. Flickr Photo Album (199)
